As a classroom teacher, I was bewildered by the number of students who had trouble manipulating expressions and equations because of weak computational skills. Mostly, it was signed numbers and fractions that got in the way of a good solution. I had one class that needed so much review, I had to send home review packets on long weekends and vacations. As a cyber teacher, I can provide students with a much easier way to review. Just browse my lessons on integers!
For those of you who missed it, I have designed a new lesson on fractions. This lesson has lots of circles, rectangles, and colors for visual learning. At this time, I am sharing it with subscribers and fans. Please post your feedback to our Facebook page.
April is Math Awareness Month. This year's theme is Mathematics and Sports. I have some worksheets for you, including one on batting averages. However, I would love to collaborate with you. Do you have a few interesting problems on math and sports for the secondary or college level? Please contribute your problems to our Facebook discussions. Let's collaborate to make MAM 2010 a great month for all students!
Find out the latest news in math education. I have compiled a list of interesting articles for you here. (These resources will become available in the next few days --after we've recovered from the blizzard in the Northeast.)
