Perimeter and Area
Perimeter and area of polygons are presented in this unit. Perimeter of both polygons and regular polygons is covered. The difference between perimeter and area is explained. Use of our free demo lessons signifies your agreement to our terms and conditions.
Lesson Access Description
Perimeter of Polygons To understand the concept of perimeter. To find the perimeter of various polygons and regular polygons.  To express the answer using the proper units.
Area of a Rectangle To understand the concept of area, and how it differs from perimeter. To find the area of squares and rectangles using the proper formulas. To find the missing dimension given the area.
Area of a Parallelogram To find the area of a parallelogram using the proper formula. To find the missing dimension given the area and the other dimension.
Area of a Triangle To find the area of various types of triangles using the proper formula.
Area of a Trapezoid To find the area of various trapezoids using the proper formula.
Practice Exercises To complete 10 additional exercises as practice. To assess students' understanding of all concepts learned so far.
Challenge Exercises To solve 10 additional problems that challenge students' understanding of perimeter and area concepts. Problems are drawn from real-life situations. To hone students' problem-solving skills.
Solutions To review complete solutions to all exercises presented in this unit.  Includes the problem, step-by-step solutions, final answer and units for each exercise.
