Hello,

I am confused with a problem, stated as such:

The curve of a hill is defined as z=1000-0.005x^2 - 0.01y^2 and standing at P=(60, 40, 966) with x axis pointing east and y axis north.

If you walk south, will you ascend or descend? How quickly?

What direction is the maximum rate of change?
