I know this probably sounds like a dumb question, but my first grader got three answers wrong on telling time on an assignment and in fact the entire class did. I think he and the class got them right and the teacher is wrong, but I want to make sure.
Anyway on his paper he has a clock that shows the time as 7:30. Then he has for the answer part "half past ______" and he is to fill in the blank. He put a 7 so it read half past 7. The teacher marked it wrong and put 7:30. So now the answer reads half past 7:30 which makes no sense.
Anyway is the teacher right is it half past 7:30 or to be written as half past 7?
Thanks for your help. I did not want to confront her to change his and the classes grade without backup and make sure I knew what I was talking about.
