On the day of a rainstorm, the depth of the water at a River was recorded hourly. Each unit on the vertical axis represents 1 foot. If the depth of the water decreased 10 percent from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, what was the depth of the water at 4pm? The answer is 18 feet. Can someone show me how. I am tutoring a kid that is preparing for the SAT. I can't figure this out.
The wording of the problem is exactly what I typed. The missing info is the picture of the graph. I don't know how to attach it. I sent a copy to Ms Glosser but will be more than happy to send it to you by e-mail. I just want to see the solution step. Me and another teacher friend have been trying to solve this problem. Even with the pic, we are stuck.
