twenty five points are arranged in a 5x5 grid. If two distinct points are chosen at random from the grid, what is the probability that the segment connecting these two points will not pass through any other points ? . This problem is from Jan 2006 Mandelbrot individual round
This is how I started.
for the first point we have 25 choices and for the second 24 choices
So the denominator is 25*24/2= 300. I don;t know how I can calculate the numerator.
