The accompanying table represents the number of cell phone minutes
used for one week by 23 users.

Number of
Minutes 7180 6170 5160 4150 3140

Number of
Users 10 7 2 3 1

Which interval contains the median?

The median is the middle value when the numbers are ranked from highest to lowest. If there are an even number of entries, take the mean (average) of the middle 2.

At a guess, you're supposed to list out the number of users in each interval, or at least count them out. You have:

. . .10 + 7 + 2 + 3 + 1 = 23 users

If you list the numbers from "1" to "23", what is the median value?

In which interval of "number of minutes" would you reach this person in line?
