Please tell me if my answer is corect.

write each fraction in simplest form. give the GCF of the numerator and denominator.

18
-- =1/3 GCF=81
45

18/45 = (9

2)/(9

5)

so, looking above, what is the GCF (greatest common factor) of the numerator and denominator?

what will the fraction be in reduced terms?

I wonder if wmdschristie3 meant GCF=18 (which would not be correct anyway) instead of GCF=81 (which makes no sense).
wmdschristie3: How do you figure the GCF is 81? IF you meant 18, then yes, 18 does divide evenly into 18 but 18 does not divide evenly into 45.

Since we are guessing what the problem could be.....

Another possibility - the problem could have been:

18/54 = 1/3 and GCF(18,54) = 18

So two numbers transposed (54 to 45 and 18 to 81).
