Write this in standard form.

6.67810 to the 2 power

I multiplyed 10 times itself twice and got 100
Then I multiplyed 100 and 6.678
My answer is 667.8 is this correct
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Another way to look at this is how the decimal point moves with respect to the power of ten.

*If the power is positive, the decimal point moves to the right the same number of places as the power of ten that you are calculating.

Ex: 2.7183 * 10^3

For this example, the decimal point will move three places to the right because 2.7183 is being multiplied by ten to the 3rd power.

2.7183 * 10^3 = 2718.3

*If the power is negative, the decimal point moves to the left the same number of places as the power of ten that you are calculating.

Ex: 3.1416 * 10^-2

For this example the decimal point will move two places to the left because 3.1415 is being multiplied by ten to the -2nd power.

3.1416 * 10^-2 = 0.031416
