Posted - 10/15/2009 : 11:09:51 Hi!
I'm Maria Antonette Sajise, an Education student, from the Philippines. My program is Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics.
They say Mathematics is a difficult subject. But for me, I take Mathematics as a challenging subject. It helps me to develop my critical and logical thinking ability.
Since elementary, my favorite subject is Mathematics. So I promise to myself that I will be an instrument of making the youth today as Mathematics lover.
Can you give some suggestions or tips on how I will make my students love Mathematics?
I will really appreciate your response. Thanks.

Posted - 10/15/2009 : 13:59:57 What state do you plan to teach in? Many state have mandated tests that cover a certain set of objectives. Usually the "interesting" topics in math are not in these objectives. I find that if you can get time to put some interesting math in that is not just "practice for the state test", the students like the subject better. The CD from this website contains some interesting math. http://www.mathgoodies.com/cd Also, the following website has some interesting math. http://archives.math.utk.edu/subjects/numbers.html
