However, I can understand that the connection may not be obvious unless specifically spelled out. Probably there is a site that spells it out but I will list it here: For a right triangle . B . * . * * . c * * . * * a . * * . * * . A*************C b The sin of A = a/c (the opposite side / the hypotenuse) . The cos of A = b/c (the adjacent side / the hpotenuse) . The tan of A = b/a (the opposite side / the adjacent side) . If you know what the above means, great. If not, ask and we can show you an example. The connection is "soh cah toa" is just an acronym for "sine opposite hypotenuse cosine adjacent hypotenuse tangent opposite adjacent". . Just insert the words "equals" and "over": . sine equals opposite over hypotenuse cosine equals adjacent over hypotenuse tangent equals opposite over adjacent"
