I am understanding that homeschooling does not have officical school grade level but I need to know where to start my child since unlike school I can start where I feel is best for my child. Please answer the following question to help me out.
At what school grade level would you place a child who correctly answers the following word problem by calculating in their head in less than a minute's time?
Stacy had $4.00, her friend April borrowed a portion of Stacy's money. Stacy now has $2.50 left. How much money does April owe Stacy?
Thank you for respectfully replying,
Jacqueline |

Posted - 10/23/2008 : 15:02:18 Different states have different standards. What state do you live in? You could go to your state's education site and give one of the grade level tests to your child and see how he/she does. If you live in TX, here is a list of grade level tests given and the answer keys. http://www.tea.state.tx.us/student.assessment/resources/release/taks/index.html I am not an elementary teacher so I can only approximate where your sample question is. I would guess 2nd or 3rd grade.... |
