Product Definitions: The Math Goodies CD is
a physical media on a compact disc. It can be read by placing the disc in your
CD-ROM drive, which then allows you to view all of its contents. Our CD is
cross-platform compatible for Windows AND Macintosh. The Math
Goodies Download is a digital file download of the contents of our CD: It is a digital media that can be purchased and downloaded via the
Internet for Windows OR Macintosh. All of our products work off line in your browser, with no Internet connection. |

This new release of our software, version 12, is an expansion pack of all
previous releases since 1998. It contains our complete math curriculum,
including 168 in-depth lessons organized into 17 units of instruction. Each unit
consists of a related group of core lessons, a set of practice exercises, and a
set of challenge exercises. For each unit, there is a
corresponding set of printable worksheets. Contents also include a suite of engaging learning games
to teach specific math concepts. Our library of crossword puzzles and solutions
was designed to hone students' math vocabulary. Thus, students can engage in self-paced learning using
several modalities. |
| Each interactive lesson provides in-depth instruction. Our lessons
actively engage students in the learning process and provide them with immediate feedback. Our
math curriculum was originally designed for grades 4 through 8. However,
many gifted younger, and remedial older students benefit from our curriculum.
Many
pre-service and veteran teachers as well as adult learners use our
materials. Thus, our curriculum is ideal for learners of all ages and abilities! For each
unit of instruction, we also provide detailed learning objectives, which educators
can copy and paste into their plan book. Our classroom activities and
project ideas provide educators with additional resources their
students. |
| Each core lesson provides in-depth
instruction through step-by-step examples, detailed explanations, definitions, illustrations, a summary and
interactive exercises. Some definitions are viewed in small pop-up windows, activated
by links. This unique design gives students the option of viewing terms
that may be unfamiliar to them. Definitions that are the object of
instruction are contained in the body of the lesson. At the end of
each core lesson, there is a summary and 5 interactive exercises. Students
can apply what they have learned in each lesson by solving these problems.

| For each unit, there is a page of interactive practice
exercises. These are 10 review problems for independent practice.
For each unit, there is also a page of interactive challenge exercises
with 10 advanced problems. Students will formulate a strategy for solving
each problem and then apply these strategies to solve routine and
non-routine problems. Educators and
parents can use these resources as interactive
worksheets or as assessment tools. |
| Whenever possible, our examples and exercise problems make connections
to the
real world. Our
interactive exercises provide students with immediate feedback.
Some units have as many as 75 interactive exercises, so students get
plenty of practice! Detailed
exercise solutions are also provided for those students who need
step-by-step answers. |
| For each unit, there is a corresponding set of worksheets
and answer keys. There are 140 printables in our worksheet library, designed
for additional practice without a computer. |
| Our interactive learning
games
are unique and engaging. Each game is designed to be a fun activity for
learning specific math concepts. Our newest games are PEMDAS Goodies and

games are designed for on-screen use and most have

| We have a library of crossword puzzles
to hone students' math vocabulary. There are interactive crosswords with three levels of difficulty designed
for on-screen use. A printable version of each crossword is also provided.
Solutions to all puzzles are also provided. No new puzzles were
released with this version of our software. |

CD-ROM is cross-platform compatible for Windows AND Macintosh
systems. It works off line in your web browser with no Internet connection.
The program files reside on the CD, which has an auto-start mechanism. You
can also install the files onto your hard drive from the installation page,
and use a shortcut or an alias to launch the program.

Download is a digital file download of the contents of our CD. This

OR Macintosh. Windows users can use our Installation Wizard, which
allows you to choose a location on your hard drive, and to create a desktop
shortcut. Macintosh users get a ZIP archive for extraction onto their hard
drive. Be sure to extract all files, or the download will not work properly. |

Our educational software is browser-based and will work in
Firefox
and
Chrome. These are the browsers we support; however, our software will
likely work in Safari, Opera and other browsers. We use the latest web technologies to create our learning resources. Accordingly,
we have listed important technical information about each resource below. |
Our in-depth lessons work off line in your web browser.
They are intended for on-screen use. If several
students are sharing one computer, we recommend that each student follows
the sequence below before the next student takes a turn:
- Navigate through all lessons in a unit
- Return to the main menu
- Quit out of the browser, or clear the browser cache and history.
Some definitions are viewed in small pop-up windows activated by links.
Accordingly, you may need to change your browser's pop-up blocker
settings.
