Introduction to Integers
The student will be able to:
- Name real-life situations that involve opposites.

Absolute Value
The student will be able to:
- Define absolute value.
- Find the absolute value of each integer in a set of numbers.
- Write the absolute value of an integer using the proper notation.
- Find all integers that satisfy a given condition for absolute value.
- Apply absolute value concepts to solve problems.
Comparing and Ordering Integers
The student will be able to:
- Compare two integers, using the proper inequality symbol.
- Order a set of integers from least to greatest.
- Order a set of integers from greatest to least.
- Apply the procedures for comparing and ordering integers to solve problems.
Adding Integers
The student will be able to:
- Recognize the relationship between a negative integer and owing money.
- Review the definition of absolute value.
- Add integers using a procedure involving absolute value.
- Apply the procedure for integer addition to solve problems.
Subtracting Integers
The student will be able to:
- Subtract integers using an arithmetic procedure.
- Apply the procedure for integer subtraction to solve problems.
Multiplying Integers
The student will be able to:
- Define the Associative Law of Multiplication.
- State the rules for multiplying integers.
- Multiply 2 integers with like signs, applying the rules for multiplying integers.
- Multiply 2 integers with unlike signs, applying the rules for multiplying integers.
- Multiply 3 integers, two at a time, applying the rules for multiplying integers.
- Recognize that the Associative Law of Multiplication applies to integer multiplication.
- Apply the procedure for integer multiplication to solve problems.
Dividing Integers
The student will be able to:
- State the rules for dividing integers.
- Divide integers with like signs, applying the rules for dividing integers.

Operations With Integers
The student will be able to:
- State the rules and procedures for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers.
