How to Solve Problems Using Our Calculator

Addition
Say you have a word problem asking you to find the total amount of eggs in a basket. The egg lady already had 5 eggs. She adds 8 more. In this case, you will be performing addition.
- Press AC to reset the calculator.
- Enter the number 5 into the calculator. This number is your addend. Addends are numbers that you add together.
- Press "+" to tell the calculator to add.
- Enter your other added, which is 8.
- Press "=" (the equal sign) to find the answer or the sum of the two numbers. Your answer will be "13."
When working with more than two addends, simply key in each number separated by the addition sign ("+") before pressing the equal sign.
Subtraction
The opposite of addition is subtraction. In this case, the egg lady put 10 eggs in the basket. Later, she removed 2 eggs because she found cracks in the shell. How many are still in the basket?

Multiplication
Multiplication makes adding the same number over and over again easier. There are five dozen eggs in a basket. You need to know the total number of eggs in that basket. A dozen means 12, and since there are 5 dozens in the problem, you will count 12 eggs, 5 times.
